Available for download below are minutes from the Chief Local Elected Officials (CLEO) Coordinating Committee meeting held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. There are a couple of action items that require Commissioners’ attention; they are highlighted in the minutes document. I’ve written a brief description of them below:
The first is consideration of contract extensions for our existing WIOA Title I service providers (St. Joseph Youth Alliance; Mo-Kan Regional Council; NW Regional Council of Governments; and Green Hills Regional Planning Commission). We aren’t required by law to release full Request for Proposals for July 1, 2020 contracts – if the CLEOs and the NW WDB agree to consider contract extensions, we can forgo that project and focus our energy on the projects required by the Federal Department of Labor.
The second consideration is DRAFT CLEO By-laws and Agreement. I’ve noted in the meeting minutes that we have an agreement signed by all 18 Presiding Commissioners, but have never established By-laws for the CLEOs. I’ve attached a DRAFT for your review; you will see highlighted sections where the revisions to the original agreement are. Please let me know if you approve of that document. The agreement we have in place now will expire June 30, 2020; I can simply include the By-law language from this point forward.
